March 30th, 2010 — tpnweeklyThis week’s TPN Weekly is by Jeffrey Powers of Geekazine. In this episode, I am going to talk about how you should take your Podcast to the next level by involving Social Networking. Gone are the days of “One Site to Rule them All…” New networks pop up everyday. People moved from MySpace to Facebook – Where will they move when Facebook doesn’t work for them and why you should be there first.

In this Podcast, I will talk about 5 ways to let your social networking work for your show. This includes:
5. Sign up to Everything
I know – Being on one Social Networking site is enough. Being on them all is just insane! But you never know how many fans you miss until you do it. Facebook, MySpace, Yahoo, CNet.com, Gizmodo, Ning.com and more.
Check out SocialMediawebsites to find out the newest ones.
4. Post, Post Post
Most lists talk about posting on other pages. I am no different. The more you post, the more people will form an opinion.
3. Your RSS is GOLD, Baby!
The most under-appreciated part of your website. The RSS is your megaphone. Use it.
Check out Geekazine and how I have not one, but 5 RSS feeds to choose from.
2. Your Facebook Fan Page can contain multiple admins
Simple recruit tactics can get other people posting on your Social Network sites. That can bring more people to your site.
1. Local community is always first, no matter what your show is about.
Do not discount the people around you. Build a base and work outward.
